HAVE A HOME FINANCED WITH BANK OF AMERICA? HELP MAY BE AVAILABLE - AT LAST

I must say I am impressed with Bank of America and the short sale process.  If you can recall I, like many other real estate practitioners have written Blogs complaining about Bank of America short sale process, and shuttered at the thought of working with them.  They were the proverbial "black hole".   Paper work would go in and NEVER COME OUT.  BUT TODAY, TODAY IS A NEW DAY.

I received a request from B of A to resubmit my short sale contract through the "Equator" computer bases system.  Reluctantly I resubmitted and felt "put out" that they could not just take the information I gave them and run with it.  However, once I placed the information into the system - within a week, I was assigned a negotiator, and a Broker's Price Opinion, (BPO) ordered.  Through this computer system, I even have the email address of the negotiator.  Additionally, everything is submitted via PDF files, and you are able to download pictures, to boot.   HOW REFRESHING!

No more faxing, re-faxing, and re-faxing - it is all there on site.

Hi Cynthia, I have my first BofA equator short sale in process also.....Let me know how you do after this. We have had the same experience up till now.  The negotiator has yet to reply to my emails. The BPO was done on March 19th but no word yet.  Both the Equator system for Realtors and the BofA short sale website for the seller says we have all of our paperwork completed. We are hopeful, my client had to relocate to California for work. He is not late on his mortgage because he is still able to pay. Hope that doesn't hurt the process.

Hi Cynthia, that is great news!  I just joined Equator after attending a couple of HAFA seminars, and if B of A follows through with what they are promising, things should go so much smoother.

This sounds like a huge step forward. in our area, the banks have started to play games with pricing: listing a Lender Approved short Sale price and then saying, "well, that was to initiate bids.  We actually want $25,000 higher to make this deal acceptable to us."  Still not sure how they can do that....
