Very quiet open house - hulu.com - LOST

The sun was shining and there were open house signs everywhere.  Unfortunately I think in the spring when it finally gets nice, people flock to Home Depot, not open houses.  So, did I use my extra time wisely, by writing note cards and sending emails... no.  I went to a website called hulu.com.  Probably everybody all ready knows about this site.  There are lots of tv shows you can stream/watch there.  So, I will admit it, I watched episodes of Lost.  I love LOST and will really miss it when it goes away.  I have been a viewer since the beginning.  I mean the idea of another reality/dimension, very intriguing.  So I believe LOST is not an island its a door...

Ok, back to writing my notecards....

Susan, sorry your Open House was beat out by other outdoor activities. But it does sound like you made good use of your time. It seems like we never have enough time for prospecting & networking so maybe we should all just have an open house to block some time. Thanks for sharing - Paige

Hey, Susan - I find that Realtors in my office have poor open houses when they don't know the demographics of the neighborhood. Without knowing that, it's almost impossible to advertise an open house in the right places that target those demographics. Is the neighborhood first-time buyers, empty nesters, couples with young kids, etc. It's a secret that my marketing guru taught me, and it doesn't matter what I'm competing against -- Chargers, Padres, beach weather, whatever -- if I know the demographics and advertise in media that target those demographics, I always have good traffic and pick up some new Clients, usually buying Clients, although I've gotten a couple of listings, too.
