A large crowd was on hand Saturday afternoon for the re-dedication of the Historic Kendall County Courthouse. Special speakers included State Sen. Jeff Wentworth and State Rep. Doug Miller. Texas Historical Commission Executive Director Mark Wolfe presented the Texas Courthouse Preservation Program plaque signaling the restoration is complete.
The Historic Kendall County Courthouse and the adjacent Historic Jail became Recorded Texas Historical Landmarks (RTHL) in 1970. Both were individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and designated as State Archaeological Landmarks in 1981.
