Thank you Neil Bloom who asked me to take on the task of Active Rain Week In Review.  It is a daunting task as those of you who have done it before know. This week the membership of Active Rain crossed the 40,000 member mark - so there was a lot to read- 457 pages of no ad blogs to be exact.

One of the things I like best in Active Rain is how one post leads to many others on the same related topic.

The week started off with Maggie Dokic's blog about a situation with a potential buyer in Educating-Our-Customers.  It ended up being featured, but unleashed many other good posts...

Lenn Harley's -  YOU DON'T HAVE TO MARRY ME, I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR ONE AND ONLY AGENT
Kevin Tomlinson's - Why I Would Buy Directly From the Listing Agent.
Suzanne Cutler chimed in with - Why I would Buy directly from the Seller!
Broker Bryant - Buyers are liars, jerks and time wasters! Or NOT!
Tony Marriott - Disarm the Bad Guys
Carmen Rivero - Converting Customers into Clients

Active Rain Launched its Referral Network... just in case you missed that - here is all the referral posts
Matt Heaton- More on the referral exchange
Becky Troutt - Anyone Notice The New "Referral Exchange" Button?
Marc Mcgee - Why The "ActiveRain Referral Exchange" Will Work
Galel Fajardo - Active Rain Headed Down a Potentially Nasty Road...
Bob Carney - Referral Exchange ALREADY Spammed!!!
Ryan Hukill - AR Gods adding bigger & better things... AGAIN?!

Listing Topics- another Great topic of the week which started with Gary Bolen's Featured Post on The Listing Presentation
and then...
Rebecca Quinones   Time to Dust off Those Listing Presentations
Judi Barrett - Listening Between the Lines
Chris Elizabeth Griffith - Molly Brown Would Have Been a Listing Agent

Although not a feature this week - I think great marketing "stuff" is one of the best contributions of Active Rain...
Marketing Ideas
Suzanne Stephens - White Space is Sacred
Kim Daugherty- Throwing a Neighborhood Swim Party
Tony Gallegos - Stupid Is, Is Stupid Does - Sales Advice From Forrest Gump
Jeff Belonger - Business Card tips -- Part 2
Maggie Dokic - Image Chef Another Free Cool Tool

Just Plain Good Advice
Sondra Sheckler - How to Sleep at Night
Jean Doyle - What do you Mean I am getting Sued?
Ashley Drake Gephart - Writers Block - Ideas to help unblock it
George Tallabas  - Effortless Skill - Develop it
Susie Roscoe - Good Communication Tips
Toni Ellis is off to a Great Start - Success = 90% preparation + 10% X
Margaret Woda -Legacy of an "old pro" - passing it on to another generation of real estate rookies

And last, but not least - this post from Art Blanchet summed up my week's experience
Rain on the Brain - For a Little While

Please continue to follow future and past AR Week in Reviews - all posted here.

I am left wondering why this post was so un important to you and the active rain community that it was not part of the week in review and has not gotten much press.  http://activerain.com/blogsview/150553/Active-Rain-Banned-By

It is as if you all have your heads in the sand not even understanding that other then making sure people don't use active rain to spam Google Yahoo & MSN

Beth, I missed quite a few of these.  I have some catching up to do.  Thanks for the double mention!

If I may make a comment to James above... have you considered that perhaps Beth did not see the post?  Picture the magnitude of 457 pages of posts.  There's no way to read them all.  That is why people, and Colleen Kulikowski in particular, keep asking everyone to RATE THE POSTS or flag them.

When I did the Week In Review 4 months ago there were about 21,000 members and I had a most difficult time trying to provide an accurate recap.  I cannot imagine the work Beth put in to do the same with double the members.  Can we all say sleep deprived?

Thanks for your hard work Beth!

James,

Firrst off...this review is for the week of 23rd to the 29th...that was posted on the 19th..so that post does not qualify for this week.

The Week in Review is for the readers to catch up on missed stories...just because your pick was not chosen does not mean it was not a good post. The picks are the picks of the weeks moderator. They choose the ones that they liked. Sorry but not everyone can be chosen, and it is hard enough for the moderator to go through many and it takes a lot of free time to do. I am sorry you feel that way...perhaps you would take the challenge of trying to do a review and then you will see how hard it is to make everyone happy. If you are interested please email me and we can arrange for you to do it next week.

Thanks for taking the time to help me keep thos review alive...thanks for your efforts Beth!

Hi Beth - wonderfully done, and I really like the way you presented this week's picks for Week in Review.  I missed a few of these so will make sure to go visit them as soon as I can.  I love having these recaps for that very reason - thanks for your hard work on this!

Having done these reviews in the past, I know the enormous amount of reading that goes into narrowing posts down to include in the Week in Review.  There will always be someone who thinks a post should have been included that wasn't, and there will always be posts that just get overlooked because of the addition of new members - that just can't be avoided no matter how hard each week's moderator works.  You did a GREAT job on this review - WELL DONE!!

Ann

Very nice week in review. I like how you put together the categories and organized the posts a little bit more than just a plain list. Thanks for your effort. I know its a lot of reading. It's interesting to see what someone else reads though. I had a busy week of reading as well and I really didn't even see most of these posts.

Wow, Beth - I feel HONORED to say the least!  I had bookmarked this posting to read some of the missed blogs without noticing one of mine is on your list.  Many thanks to Angie Vandenberghny for pointing that out to me!  'Betting those "grand dames" are smiling down about all this fuss.

Ann- thanks for your kind words.  I know you have done this before so your comments mean quite a bit.

Patty - this was a sleep deprived week - think I am going to have a few more of those.

Ravi - you are most welcome

Angie -  enjoy!  I liked your posts of the week as well

Lenn - you deserve mention every week

Derrick - you are welcome

Ryan - it was my pleasure - I enjoyed reading your stuff - hopefully this will get you better readership - the number of comments were irrelevant to me.

Tony - you are welcome - Maggie's post sparked quite a few - thats a good post followed by more of the same

Bryan - you are welcome - and thank you for you comments - I particularly liked your reply post to Maggie.

Bob- that's the job - thatnks and you are most welcome

 Al - Thanks and enjoy!

Margaret - I was touched by your post.  Since I am starting to feel a bit long in the tooth myself - I can so remember the "old ones" like me when I started- there was so much to learn from them, which they graciously shared.

Kim - I loved the pool party idea - it is such a great way to create community - in this cyber age we miss some of that - I loved the post.

Beth, I don't know where you find the time to do all this! Personally, I value your opinion very highly and I will make it a point to read these posts. the more I learn about the rain the more I like it. I have also learned that if I start reading posts during the day, how easily one can lose track of time. I can't believe that I am actually looking forward to reading all these posts on vacation next week ! I must be nuts!!   But , I love it !
