A.M. Barbe High School  often referred to as "Barbe" for short, is located at the end of W. McNeese Street and Weaver Road in Lake Charles.

Barbe is the home of the Buccaneers or BUCS (as we know locally.)

Local industry, Grace Davison, is the Partner in Education with Barbe helping to support the school with various projects.

Barbe is known for excelling in ALL aspects of athletics with state of the art facilities. The most well known landmarks are the Barbe Baseball Field and The Barbe Football stadium, where many BUC championships have been won! The Barbe Baseball program is one of the Nation's Top 10 Baseball programs of the decade.  The BUCS were 2008 National Champions of the Nike Sparq Challenge.

There is nothing like Friday Night Football and Barbe is always a contender for the 5-A team division.  The "BUCS" have enjoyed the status of being awarded All District champs over several years and  when football season rolls around Lake Charles fans flock to the stadium to cheer the BUCS on to victory!

Because of the convenient vicinity to nearby subdivisions the Barbe track also attracts many Lake Charles Residents who enjoy walking/running in the evening or on weekends.

Location is everything in Lake Charles!  There are several neighborhoods that border Barbe on Weaver Road including Weaver Park, The Reserve, and Kingswood.  Other  Lake Charles neighborhoods located nearby are  The Oaks at Heyd Place and The Shadows.  Because of the close proximity of these neighborhoods to Barbe High School, these communities are very popular in South Lake Charles.
