The Ultimate Cell Phone For Real Estate...Not The Apple IPhone

I have been in the market for a new phone and I'm amazed at how sophisticated they have become and at the same time equally amazed at how difficult they are to use.  Is there a phone out there that really makes things easier?  The Treo must be the cause of at least one car accident a day with its stylus and touch pad with tiny icons.  I had a Treo for over a month and while I loved it I also hated it.  It dialed on its own, I needed a full-time assistant to program it and thankfully I avoided a head-on collision while I squinted at its tiny letters on its screen.  That's when I returned it to Verizon.

Now I have the new Blackberry World Edition and I can't say that I love it.  The QWERTY keys are miniscule and close together, it took some real expert re-programming to get its ring loud enough to even hear and Verizon has disconnected the GPS so they can charge me another $10 a month, plus MSN Messenger isn't easy to use and needs a $30 upgrade (one time software download).

Like I said, what else is there?  The Apple IPhone isn't the answer.  I have tried it and its touch pad keyboard is a joke and at $600 I can't justify that expense.  It's mainly for keeping in touch with clients and associates in business. I guess the Blackberry is just the lesser of evils, but you would think that there was a solution.

Anyone have some suggestions on the best phone out there...and does Verizon carry it?

I've been a die-hard Treo fan for years.  But alas, I think this love affair is starting to wane.  I'm in the market for something new myself so I'll check back in and see if you get any tips.

I understand your frustation with the Treo.  I not only have a Treo but also use an small flip phone for making my calls.  The Treo is too bulky and ackward as a phone.  I mainly use the Treo for emails, internet access, as my on the road database and organizer.  This saves me carrying my laptop.  I am not a fan of the Blackberry.  It is hard to find an all-in-one device.

I have the Motorola Q.  I like it, but don't love it.  The qwerty keys are small but stand out.  They don't respond all the time when typing.  I miss the auto capitalization of letters like my blackberry 7250 did.  I like the camera.  It takes some pretty good photos for a cameraphone.  Its a battery hog.  Its sleek.  I like the cursor tool.  I don't use the scroll wheel at all. The bluetooth works great with it.  You can tether it to your laptop for cheap to access the Verizon Broadband network.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has the BB Curve yet.

Thanks for the tips. I have been in the market for a new phone with PDA and internet functions. I don't think there is a perfect phone.... at least not yet.

I have the Treo, and so far I've been happy with it.  My main issue with it is the clunkiness of it - it's not very ergonamically correct - at least for a female's hands.  I also wish it had rubber grips on the edges so that I can hold on to it better, as I am always dropping it.  Lots of scrapes, bumps and bruises on this one, but it's lasted almost 2 years so far.

I've yenned over the I-Phone, but I have been hearing it is not the phone to buy if you rely on email alot - and I do.  So, I think I'll pass.

THE phone of the moment is the Iphone- Apple has put out a winner.  I am NOT into complicated screens, but the touchtone (it takes an hour of practice, then you'll "get it") is amazing.  Equally fascinated are some of our propective cients- they love the myriad of usages for this phone.  There isn't any one phone, as complicated as they all can be, that answers all needs, but for me, Apple is the one.  Small price to pay for a top notch device, imo.

There is no better phone than the Blackberry Curve.  It has all the features need for any business user and far outshines options like the I-Phone which is not really set up for business use.
