I recently showed a property on a beautiful street on Siesta Key. What many people do not realize having seen the photos of the vast expanses of white sand beaches, is that large areas of Siesta are actually very lush and treelined. This was one of those areas.
It was beautiful Key West style home, with a wrap around porch overlooking the tropical pool, and beautiful wood floors throughout. We often don't see this type of home for this price point out on the Key - roughly $500K.
Although well within their price range, my buyers suspected the home was overpriced. After all, they reasoned, isnt everything these days? Actually, the home was priced UNDER market value. But sometimes in this market, it is hard to accept that you can't get another 30% off the price of the home...so they asked to see other "comparable" homes on the street.
The rest of the homes on the street were listed at well over $1 million dollars. Argument over. Stating they didn't mind being the "poor neighbors" on Siesta Key. we're off to buy a house.
Sometimes it's just a matter of perspective.
