There have been changes in the housing market in Orange County, NY from the 4th Quarter in 2006 to 1st Quarter in 2007. According to the Greater Hudson Valley Multiple Listing Service's Economic and Market Watch Report, the average sales price of a home increased in the 1st Quarter of 2007. Up from $339,500.00 in the 4th Quarter of 2006 to $340,600.00 in the 1st Quarter of 2007.
The report also stated that there was a decrease in the number of homes sold in the 1st Quarter of 2007. Down from 783 in the 4th quarter of 2006 to 565 in the 1st Quarter of 2007. The report further stated there was an increase in the average number of days homes stayed on the market in the 1st Quarter of 2007. Up from an average of 99 days in the 4th Quarter of 2006 to 114 days in the 1st Quarter of 2007.
