1 in 10 homeowners in the US are currently in foreclosure. In many of these instances, foreclosure could have been avoided by contacting a Realtor and listing the home for sale by way of "Short Sale". Foreclosure should be the very last resort. If you or someone you know is facing foreclosure, contact an experienced Realtor and sell your home via "Short Sale". This option will save you 7-9 years recovery time in re-establishing your credit.

Dion, I list a lot of short sales.  Thanks for promoting these homes.

Hi Dion ~ There are still a lot more foreclosures coming from what I am hearing.  I'm trying to persuade a friend to short sell her home, rather than letting it go into foreclosure.  She has been trying to get her loan modified by BOA, but without much success.  It's been an absolute nightmare.

Kay- It's obvious that short sales will be with us for a while in a big way. We might as well embrace them!

Denise- That seem to be a recurring theme accross the country. I think that many people are so shocked and disillusioned by the notion of loosing their home that's tough for them to sit down and think out a strategy for recovering from the loss as quickly as possible. I hope your friend is able to pull it together and make the right decision.
