Plans Unveiled for Park Near Liberty Hill

April 10 was the long-awaited unveiling of new plans for a parkthat will be on a 1,000-acre property, situated in Williamson County near Liberty Hill, about 20 miles west of Georgetown.  Visitors enjoyed 1-, 2- and 5K hikes starting a guided equestrian rides, as. County staff and members of the Texas Native Plant Society unveiled the plans.

The park will be designed by the Round Rock planning, landscape architecture and architecture firm BWM Group. The park will contain campgrounds, equestrian trails, hiking paths and a heritage center to highlight the equipment once used on the land, which was a cattle ranch.

The property was obtained by the county in 2008 for $10,500 per acre and is known as the Williams tract. Since the county only has the money for the design of the park, after preview day the park will be closed until the design and building is completed.
