This year the Troy Area Chamber Of Commerce is excited to be able to bring to you an old fashioned Chuck Wagon Cook-Off! The Dutch Oven cooking will be fired with either oak or mesquite in open pits and enclosed cooking boxes, in the Trojan Park. The Chamber will be offering plate lunches to the public for $10.00 a plate ticket, from Noon to 1PM on Saturday and Judging results at 4PM. A very limited amount of tickets are available at Extraco Bank (Troy branch only) and at City City Hall. Each Chuck Wagon will cook for their crew and plates for the public, including meat, potatoes, beans, bread, and dessert! In addition to the judging of their food, they are judged on such things as their wagon's runnng gear, wheels, brakes, wagon box and hitch, chuck box, coffee grinder, supplies and utensils. Campsite is judged on layout and appearance, personnel in period clothing, canvas fly, wood poles, tie down ropes and stakes, tent and bedrolls, cook fire, pot rack, s hooks and tripod rack, wash basin, shaving and related items, lanterns, shovel, ax and wood saw, block and tackle, pulling and remuda ropes, saddle, bridle, blanket and hobbies. Come on over and look around and step back in time....   Troy has not experienced a chuck wagon cook-off before. Also in the park we will have the "Cowographer's" for your enjoyment. There is also a fireworks show planned for Friday night!. This is family oriented community entertainment for children and adults of all ages! Wagons signed up are: RafterTS, Lampasas, Texas www.rafterts.com   Rocking T, Chappell Hill, Texas, Wagon Wheel C, Prairie Hill, Texas.
