Major Irritation - Agents That Don't Return Calls!

By
Real Estate Agent with Charles Rutenberg Realty

OK, we all know that the market is NOT where it was two years ago. So can you explain WHY an agent would have a house listed AND NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS TO SHOW THAT HOUSE????

What is even better is the combo of real estate agency AND agent that seem to take Sundays off. NOBODY returns the calls..... I have been out there more than once showing homes to people from out of town and been unable to contact agents or the listing office to get information on showing their listing! If it says lockbox and vacant, it is still a guessing game! All too often lately I go there and find some combination lockbox that is not part of our Suprakey network down here. So assuming that if it says lockbox I can show it when the agent does not return calls does NOT always work either.

In my opinion, the weekends are the MOST IMPORTANT days of the week! That is when those who work Monday through Friday have time to look at homes. I don't understand how you can be in real estate and take one or both days off on the weekend! Am I missing something???

I can sympathize with you. I find it even more of a nuisance when you call an agent that has shown one of your properties and you can't get them to return your call for feedback.

I tried to make an appointment yesterday (Sunday) and the office I was calling was closed. It should have been open, the office hours indicated that it was supposed to be open...so where was everybody??? Very frustrating.

I dont understand offices that close over the weekend.   For the business we are in weekends seem essential.

If an agent doesn't return my calls in a reasonable period of time, I look up the broker/manager. Sometimes that doesn't work, I had one broker tell me he couldn't get the agent much of the time. I hope he looses his license soon, or gets active in managing his business.

Hey Bill..... Due to the volume of listings I work with, calling for feedback was fruitless on my assistants behalf ..Maybe 35-40% replied. I then switched over to http://www.HOMEFEEDBACK.com, an absolutely fantastic feedback system  that automates feedback requests to Showing Agents and Sellers! Check out their site. Well worth the $19/mo and has increased our feedback rate to near 85%. HIGHLY Recommended.
