Is a Pimenta... a Female Pimento ?

By
Real Estate Agent with New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County

I just wrote a post about Picasa 2, and in commenting back to one of the comments on it... Active Rain saw fit to ask me the question... "What does the graphic say."  This used to be common about a year ago, and every once in awhile it still pops up.

Anyway... the "graphic word" was "pimenta."

This, of course, caused my demented but inquiring mind to wander...

Just what IS... a pimenta ?  Is a pimenta a female pimento ?

And then... if there ARE both pimentos and pimentas... do they mate ?

And again... just following this along... if the pimento and the pimenta DO mate... what would you call their offspring ?

Would their boy babies be called "pimentinos" ?  And their girl babies... would they be called "pimentinas" ?

This is serious.  Right now, there could be thousands, if not millions of pimenti out there... without names or genders !  A new crisis has arisen.  Forget health care.  Forget "nuc-ya-ler" proliferation.  Forget everything else. This needs to be adressed.

Now... let's all join hands... in a cyber-sorta way... close our eyes... and try to imagine their mating ritual.  Do they dance ?  Does the pimenta do provocative things to attract the pimento ?  Or is she the aggressor ?

I guess I could go on and on about this... but I must remember that Active Rain is a public forum, and it would probably be best if I stop this particular train of thought... about pimenti mating rituals... right now.

I also guess most folks do not realize how impossible I find it... going through life... not knowing the answers to such burning questions as... "Is a pimenta a female pimento ?"  Inquiring minds want to know.  So do deranged minds, as can be seen from my questions.

Have a great evening everyone !

All I can say is I hope you spelled it right so you didn't lose your comment lol.  I've seen some very odd graphics, some downright funny.  Some so long and strange I have to type one letter at a time to get it right.

Thank you so much for bringing this pimenta/pimento dilemna to our attention.

OMG!  I've been so busy I haven't had time for ActiveRain over the past few weeks and when I return, the first post I read is this! LOL!  I shouldn't stay away for so long. Who knows what other gems I've missed.

The graphic word is only required for the first comment each time you enter the site.  If you close the browser and come back, you'll get asked again.  Bunya-Bunya to get this posted.

Jenny:  Yes... I DID spell pimenta correctly, so I was able to send in my comment.  Whew, huh ?  So now, on to the much more important question of the mating ritual of the pimenti.

Hmmm... perhaps there could be a sequal to the movie Avatar... and instead of being about the Na'vi... it could feature some sort of backstory about the "Pimen'ti ?  The world awaits.

Lorrie:  I am sure that you have been away from Active Rain because you have been just inundated with customers and closings.  Good for you !  (Hope you remembered Steve's birthday yesterday.)

Anyway... I am honored that this post... about the mating ritual of the pimenti... was the first post you read.  I mean, what could have been MORE important ?  The future of the world as we know it could depend on this.

As for the graphic word stuff... yes... I am aware that it pops up on the first comment submitted after re-visiting the site.  Bunya-Bunya... huh ?  Perhaps that was a loving nickname that Paul Bunyon's girlfriend had for him ?  Again... inquiring minds... etc.

Welcome back to Active Rain.  I am sure your fans have missed your posts and comments.  I know I have. Take care... be well...

William:  But... we need answers.  This is so frustrating.  Sometimes my I am afraid my mind will wander so far... it may never come back.  Perhaps that has already happened ?

I know.  I bet Sarah Palin would know.  Whaddya think ?  She knows just about everything... I hear.  Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh Sarah...

That's funny....I had a good one the other day too and I wish now I had kept tract of it. I think if we all kept notes for a few days we'd get a pretty odd list of words.

Hello Karen - You pose a very interesting question.  I guess I'll spend some time and ponder this.  If I come up with anything good I'll check back in.

Oh my goodness... I haven't checked in with you lately and clearly it's time for the men in the white coats!  Just stay away from sharp objects until they arrive.

Steve:  Please hold off with the men in the white coats.  I am here with a group of women in white coats... and we are having a party.  Sort of a sleep-over, actually.  It's girls night in.  I don't see any pointed objects... unless you count lipstick... but there are a few bottles of white zinfandel here and there.

But, as usual, I appreciate your concern.  Have a great week end.

Karen Anne - You spend your time pondering different important things than many of us.  Many of us have spent a lifetime wondering about the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" or the shorter version, since it is easier to say, "What is the meaning of life?".  If you ask us, we'd all give you the same answer:  "42".

Hi Karen ~ This post is good for a lot of chuckles. And I have to say - Bunya-Bunya sounds like some sort of frat cheer (is there such a thing?). I often am tickled by the sign in words - they're much more fun than those obnoxious write-this-undecipherable-word ones.

Joan:  I do believe you've got your songs mixed up... LOL.  Potayto, potahto, tomayto, tomahto... let's call the whole thing off.  And... the "that's what it's all about"... is the end of the Hokey Pokey.

Ahhh... the things I remember from days gone by.  Now... what did I have for breakfast this morning.  I'd have to think about that one.  By the way... thanks for singing those two parts of those songs.  A very nice voice you have there :)

Marc:  Yes, I ponder... but sometimes... actually, oftentimes... my ponderings seem to take on a life of their own.  All I do is follow them to see where they are going.  And... how great to finally know the meaning of life.  42.  By the way, is that 42 Canadian, or 42 US ?  And... may I have it in Loonies, puhleeze ?

Liz:  Years ago, when I went to the movies as a child... I used to eat Chuckles all the time.  I especially remember liking the lime ones.  I like lime.  Don't remember if they had lemon, but if they did, I would have put them on my favorites list as well.

Yes... the sign-on words can be funny at times.  Maybe after this weekend... as Bob "promised" us... all their servers will be on line... and the Errors and Bad Gateways will be gone... so we can enjoy the silly word sign-on thingies.

By the way... I could use your back-up over on my America is So Divided Politically... Here is A Possible Solution post.  If you have time, and are so inclined.  Thanks a bunch.

Hi Karen Anne, I read the post, I read all of the comments and I still don't know the answer to your pimenta dilemma - this is very upsetting indeed.
