Embed Dynamic Google Chart. Testing with My Weight Loss Program

I wanted to see what I could do with getting a Google Document chart embedded into a blog.  I wanted to see if then by updating the original Google Spreadsheet, the embedded chart would automatically get updated. 

I created a simple chart of my weight.  I started a "diet" 30 days ago and have lost 10 pounds.  My goal is to lose 20 more pounds and get down to my college weight of 195 pounds.

It's not too difficult to stay on a program for a couple of weeks or even a month.  But I have found in the past that staying committed for 3 months is a challenge.  Therefore I'm going to keep my weight chart updated for the world to see.  Hopefully that will keep me accountable and motivate me to attain my goal. 

At the same time I'll get more experience and maybe some ideas on other uses for embedded dynamic charts. 

I'm also going to post comments everyday  and try to record exactly what I ate that day the the physical activity I had.  That way I'll have a record of what it took to lose the weight and maybe see some cause and effect.

Tim. I love Google Docs. My assumption is the chart will update automatically. Did it?

I also love the Google forms. I have many of them out here and get lead capture from them quite often. I'm a HUGE fan of google products.

Bryant,  Yes, it did.  I'd like to see if I can do my market charts like this.  That way I don't have to copy and paste a new chart every month.  The biggest problem though is that the Google Charts are pretty simple and you don't have many editing options.

Snack 10:30, grapefruit

Lunch 12:30, can of Albacore tuna with some mayo and pepper, two cheese sticks, medium apple

Snack 2:30, hand full of almonds

Dinner 5:30, 6 small meatballs, steamed brocolli and califlower with flax seed oil

mowed grass 30 minutes and walked around Chastain Park  30 minutes

Breakfast 8:30, 3 scramble eggs with Mozzarella cheese, medium apple.

Lunch 12:30, can of Albacore tuna with mayo and pepper, one cheese stick, hand full of almonds.

Snack 4:50, Spicy hot fried pork rinds

Dinner 5:30,  flounder, 2 meat balls, tortellini, brocolli, chocolate ice cream

Very cool Tim. A live chart on your website is an awesome idea. I bet you could also set one up with property activity for your sellers. Everytime there is an action on their property they have a chart that will update. They could embed it on their desktop.

You are a disciplined man, Mr. Maitski.  I have little doubt that your goal will be reached.

Throw in consistent & responsible stretching and exercise beyond that (I personally believe stretching is the best form of an exercise in of itself and is its own entity) and your body will be a lean, mean, Real Estate Machine ... that's darn healthy:)

And I like this idea (Google Doc embedded on your blog with your goal) on many levels.

Jason,  I need something to keep me motivated.  I feel that if I put it all out there and people are watching, I don't want to be seen as a loser. Keeping the chart keeps me on target and let's me see a picture of my progress.  I'm hoping my mind gets the picture and does what needs to be done.

I find that a diet also is motivating because it does take discipline over a long period of time.  You have to keep making the right choices. It then makes you feel like you have the power to control something.  While other things seem to be beyond control, I always know that I alone have control over what I put in my mouth.   That power of self control then seems to spread into other parts of my life.
