Established in 1918, Yarid's Shoes is a family owned and operated shoe store. While visiting the store in Lewisburg, not only did I get shoes, but some Yarid history............
Mr. Yarid arrived by train in Ronceverte, WV, in 1918 to sale rugs. He fell in love with the area, met his wife and opened Yarid's Department store. Their two sons, Eddie and Munir 
took over the department store in the early 1950s. In 1982 they bought Schwabe's Shoe Department located at The Greenbrier. They retired in 1994, and Eddie's two daughters, Katherine and Emilie took over the business. That is when Yarid's Department ended and Yarid's Shoes started. Today, there are five Yarid's Shoes locations:
