I have come to enjoy all the great things that the Quinte area has to offer to my family and me including the things it doesn't have. Here are a few of my favorites: 

• Traffic delays that slow my trip by only a few minutes rather than a few hours.
• I only have to travel a short distance to reach water. Whether it's the Trent and Moira Rivers or the Bay of Quinte and Presqu'ile Bay or Moira Lake and Lake on the Mountain.
• The fact that I have great neighbours but they are not so close that I can hear their television through an open window.
• Although our air quality could always be better in the Quinte region, I 'm glad I can't see the yellowish -brown cloud that hangs over the larger urban areas on a hot humid day.
• I appreciate the fact that many in my neighbourhood feel safe to walk any street regardless of the time of day.
• Relaxing on the banks of the Trent River watching those large cabin cruisers make their way along the lock system (and wondering how they can afford the cost of fuel).
• Purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables from the roadside stands along our country roads. Nothing is better than something picked just a short while ago.
• Going to Reid's Dairy and having a great soft ice cream cone. In my humble opinion it's the best!
• Best of all are the terrific people who make you feel so welcome, whether you are just visiting or relocating to the area.
