8 year olds know how to deal with SUCCESS, do YOU? #in

Today's soccer game for our 8 year old daughter was a little embarrassing.

by the time Half-time rolled around, no-one was keeping score because our team was winning by something like a bajillion goals to NONE - I stopped counting @ 12.

Our coach was doing his best to show good sprotsmanship. He had even rotated the entire team into their individual WORST positions to try to even the odds just a tad for the other team . . . Didn't work . . . We continued to add points while they just couldn't figure out how to get the ball past the center line.

Curious, I slithered my way within earshot of Coach's 1/2 time speech knowing that the usual pep talk might be replaced by a plea for mercy for the other team.

Coach did a very cool thing.

He changed the rules for our team and our team only . . . told them that they would score points ONLY by passing the ball successfully to others of their team-mates for the remainder of this game. They could continue to score points, but those points would not add value.

the 2nd half of the game was a continuation of the 1st half in the sense that the other team didn't have a single opportunity to shoot on our goal . . . BUT . . . everyone was having LOTS more FUN.

This was akin to "The Harlem Globe Trotter 8 Year Old girl Soccer Squad" and by the end of the game they were passing the ball masterfully and having a blast.

Sneaky little coach had turned a game massacre into a skills camp.

So . . .

Even when things are running at their best and everything seems to be going right, there's opportunity for developing better skills . . . these are the times when "Scaling up" personal skill set, mindset, and business strategies become most essential.

Develop this stuff while in the game so that when the rubber really hits the road (and you encounter a REAL TOUGH opponent), you'll be prepared.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS practice (Lead generate) and INNOVATE no matter how great you feel things are going . . . continuous improvement is the life-blood of a sustainable business,

I'm just sayin'

Best,

Barry, I would very much like the coach of your daughter's team.  What a great lesson for those 8 year olds. And what a terrific message for us all.  Thank you. Thank you.
