Patio at The Garden Kitchen in Occoquan VA

Tucked off of the main street in Historic Occoquan VA is the patio for The Garden Kitchen.  The restaurant is a great place to sneak away on a nice spring day for a bite to eat with friends.  This week the azaleas were in full bloom making this patio a perfect oasis.

Cindy - what a lovely spot to hide out in.  Love the spring flowers that are beginning to bloom all over.

Azaleas are one of my favorites...and one of the few the deer will leave alone while they're blooming. I just planted four rhododendrons this week and I'm planning some azaleas for the same shady area.

Jen-it was a great day but a bit chilly.

Gerry-I stopped by The Garden Kitchen a few days ago.  Today I would have been in a parka.

Kristin-couldn't get there today due to work and a chill in the air.

Carra-I did hang out for awhile when I stopped by this week.  Quiet and beautiful setting.

Leah-it is always so nice to watch the progression of spring from the first peek of color to the full blooms.

Dave-you are right.  When I had country property most of the flowers were just a salad bar for the deer.

Azaleas are a beautiful relaxing type of flowering bush...I can imagine sitting in the restaurant and enjoying a bite to eat with all of that beautiful shrubbery around.
