An Unassuming Local Hero

It's Sunday morning and I had the opportunity to read a wonderful story about a young man, or in my mind, hero. This extraordinary young man lives in Baca Raton, Fla. His name is Lucas Metropulos and he is teaching something to the local kids in his community something so basic yet so worthwhile. This creative 17 year old started a course teaching needy kids to feed both their families and have fun doing it. How, by fishing, Metropulos has added marine conservation as well as sea life to his course. He is inspiring many of the kids in his area to seek careers in different marine applications. These kids are learning the importance of the resources the ocean has to offer.

This year to involve himself further in his community Metropulos raised money to take 20 of his students fishing out on the Atlantic ocean for "Make a Difference Day". According to Metropulos the kids were having a ball catching a wide variety of fish on the trip.

Not only is Lucas Metropulos making a difference in his community, but his commitment is inspiring this Realtor to get more involved in his own community. Thanks for reminding me what is important Lucas...great job!
