Running the Long Race for Real Estate Success

This is another one of Nice Gregor's photos. Since he's been slacking (already!), I'm back to using his photos =P  I've actually had this photo saved on my computer for a long time. You see, what you don't know about Nick is that he's a marathon runnerHis nickname on every forum he joins is "Nickrun".

I know he has several photos of his running exploits. I've seen them. I'm hoping he'll share some of them, and his stories eventually. But for now, I have to say, I was inspired by this photo from the first time I saw it. Thinking of all the training that goes into running a marathon, and comparing it to our real estate businesses, there are so many similarities.

So, enjoy this week's Speechless Sunday (with words, as usual), brought to you by Nick Gregor, aka Nickrun. Order prints of Nick's photos here

running the real estate long haul

I'm curious to hear what you get from this simple photo, regarding how it relates to your real estate business. Here were some of my thought comparisons...

  • The long hours
  • The training
  • The obstacles
  • The physical setbacks
  • The victories
  • The defeats
  • The self-discipline
  • Toughing it out through the hard times

I love the photo......really neat!  Fortunately for my real estate business, I approach it with more seriousness than my attempts to be a runner! :o)

I was doing a two week project in a day! I just posted it. I'm not inthe Real Estate Buisness but I think you cna compare running to a lot jobs. Just one I can think of now is the will to get out there and do it when you really don't want to. Some of us are not graced enough to live in warm weather. When its 0 degrees outside and I have to run 15 miles I really do not want to do it!! I do it anways otherwise my performance during my next race will not be as good as if I just ran. My point here... umm I guess if you really don't want to do something like take a class, learn more, spend anymore time with a client you're really only hurting your own performance. Choice is yours if you want to do the work or not.

Marchel- I've always liked this one. I've had it on my computer for a long time. I'm glad I final had an opportunity to use it.

Liz- I hadn't thought of that. YES! lol

Tony- That's a good one. =)

Ann- I was just thinking of comparisons. Like the ones I listed below the image ;-)

Nick! You're back. And you see you've been busted for blog-slacking =P  But now you know, I've always liked your shoe photo =)  And you're right. It's up to us whether we succeed or fail. A beat-up shoe tells a long story though. It's been through a lot, and if only it could talk =)

Cynthia- Time for a breather?
