This week on the radio

Once again this week, hurricane forecasters have reduced their dire predictions for the 2007 atlantic hurricane season. This happened at the same time last year and the whole thing makes you start to wonder why each year since 2004 we have received such ominous warnings at the start of the season. (Hurricane season runs June to November).

Here in Florida we know that sooner or later we will again be hit by another hurricane. We choose to live here with that knowledge because the good massively outweighs the bad. Before that summer of 2004 it had been 40 years since Central Florida had taken a direct hit so why the panic? And why the dissapointment from forecasters?

I can only assume that politics is involved - if we give out the heavy warnings and we're riught then we are heroes. If we tell the truth then we are zeros.

We watch the skies with interest.
