Supra Lockbox Activity Week Ending 4/11/10

NOTE:  The Supra Lockbox is the magic access key that allows agents to open the doors on listed property.  It also keeps statistics, and as you can see, there has been a INCREASE in activity for Oregon, which also includes Portland, OR real estate activity.  The Metro Porltand market is the largest in the State.  But this is an all encompassing Statewide stat.  Keep in mind:  This does NOT mean that sales, closed transaction, inventory have INCREASED or DECREASED.

In last week's (week ending 4/4/10) report I wrote: If you want to blame suggest that it was the Easter weekend, which is why there is a -12.1% DECREASE in last week's activity . . . hmmmmm, perhaps.  We'll have to see wait and see if the decrease is becoming a trend, or just hiccup brought about by the holiday.  With only 3 weeks left to ENTER INTO A PURCHASE CONTRACT to qualify for the tax credit, I don't see the throngs of shoppers in my local market coming out to look. 

Okay, NOW WE'RE TALKING!!  The increase of 26.6% is a great jump up in the market activity the past  week.  It seems as though local buyers are getting it . . . but hopefully the rush of buyers won't mean that sellers think they're out of the woods yet.  The tax incentive, which is ending soon, might be the reason for the great increase.  It will be interesting to see what next week stats are out.  Will the trend continue??

BUYERS:  What that means for you . . . the properties you have interest in might / might not have the level of activity as expected.  These showings are for the RMLS Supra lockbox in the state.  The Portland, OR real estate market might have slightly higher levels of activity.

SELLERS:  Check and see with your listing agent if the STAT above is holding true with your property.  Are you getting any more showings, or has activity level dropped??
