Can you say, "Glam!?"  Wow, what eye candy at High Point yesterday!  Glad to see mirrored furniture is still showing.  I saw a lot of that.  It's tough to transport, but I do have some pieces I use in staging.  Sorry to say that microfiber was not shown.  I saw one dining room set with chairs in microfiber - the salesman commented that it was last year's model.  Microfiber has been replaced by velvet.  I've been purchasing market samples for years and I noticed velvet was popping up last year.  I do have 2 velvet glam sofas I purchased last year that I love to use for staging.

Here's a photo of Ty Pennington from ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition and me at High Point.

It's a good thing I don't live closer or my pocketbook would be way lighter.  I would be in my element at those furniture shows.  I find much of my stuff for staging at HomeGoods.  It's like digging for treasure.

Sorry to hear that microfiber is on it's way out...it's so much more practical than velvet.  Thanks for the update Joan.

Velvet for staging is not so practical-micro fiber is such a dream!! I hear white wash finish is making a comeback, did you see it there??? How fun for you to meet TY!!

I personally don't have a problem using velvet because my items just sit there unused in vacant properties.  Velvets are a lot lighter with a shorter nap than they used to be.

Yes, the washed finish was there - but it's called "river wash" and it looks like gray driftwood.  It's acutally very beautiful and some pieces were also rubbed in areas with different colors of paint.  I wasn't allowed to take pictures in all of the showrooms or there was one river wash chest I would've captured.  It was fabulous!

Joan,  Thanks for keeping us up-to-date.

I don't think any of the rental companies have velvet, may be I can invest in some velvet covered pillows.
