What a Weekend to visit Big Rapids!
Every weekend is a nice time to visit our little slice of paradise on the Muskegon River but this weekend, April 24-25, 2010 is a GREAT time to visit. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. we have a double header. We have the Mecosta County Community & Family Expo held at the Big Rapids Middle School and at the South end of town Ferris State University is holding Ferris Fest 2010 from noon to 6pm at the Campus Quad (Wink Arena if rains) and if that is not enough Sunday the Verve Pipe is putting on a Kid's Show at the Big Rapids High School at 3pm on Sunday and....it's Free!
The Mecosta County Community & Family Expo will be fun for the whole family! Not only can you learn about the businesses and services available in Mecosta County, but the young ones will have fun too! The Great Start Collaborative is partnering with the Chamber for the first time this year providing fun for the little ones, including face painting, hat making, necklace making, a petting zoo, fire trucks, emergency vehicles, bouncy inflatable's, popcorn, cotton candy and more. Lake and Lodge Realty LLC will be having a booth there so stop by for a visit. And best of all...The entire event is FREE!

as well as Airbrush Tattoos, Custom Frame Photos, Defender Dome, Giant Slide, Gladiator Jousting, Inflatable Twister, and Spin Art Frisbees. Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy Johns and Papa Johns will all be there to cure that hungry feeling.
