Brand New to Active Rain

Mortgage and Lending with NJ Mortgage Banker

Wow, this site is pretty impressive and after having been a member for just under 48 hours now, I am thoroughly enjoying learning to navigate all the areas of the site.  There is a wealth of information on here waiting to be found and put to good use.

I am hoping to establish some referral relationships and set myself up with a few realtors spaced out in all the states that I do business in. I am just getting into the purchase market but any loans that I have done in the past were closed on time with very few hiccups along the way.  I think that the more thorough you are in the application taking stage, the better your results will be and fewer suprises will pop up "in process" to bite you. Let's face it, there can always be an issue or two when trying to get a loan to the closing table but it is how we handle these issues that sets us apart from the rest and keeps our customers coming back for more.... constant contact is extremely important!!  While a client may not like to hear that there is a potential problem with his/her loan, in the end they appreciate the honesty and the fact that you were able to overcome said obstacle and still get them their loan. Consider the opposite.... a problem arises and you dodge them for a week, not returning phone calls or e-mails.... what reaction will they have now?  you guessed it.... anger, pure and simple... and who wins when dealing with an angry customer..... noone. the client doesn't get the loan, the Loan Officer doesn't get the business, the agent might lose the sale completely and you can bet there aren't going to be any referrals coming....

At the end of the day, my selling strategy is simple...... treat Clients as I would expect to be treated by someone offering me a service, be thorough, be honest and keep in constant contact.....
