There is no better feeling than helping others...especially if you give voluntarily of your time and resources. This week is National Volunteer Week...so pick something close to your heart and offer your help.
In this economy there are more needs than ever before. It is imperative that we all work together to offer relief to those folks...and animals...who are less fortunate. Below are links to some of my favorite local charities.
An AWESOME group of local agents have formed the Lost Our Home Pet Foundation. A nonprofit group of real estate professionals who rescue pets left behind due to foreclosures or other financial hardship. You would not believe the generosity of these folks and others who have helped them. Read more here http://www.lostourhome.org/.
The Desert Mission Food Bank is also close to my heart. The Phoenix Association of Realtors have a goal of donating ONE MILLION pounds of food to this worthy organization. They feed over 1500 families per month. Their mission is to provide emergency food assistance in a dignified and respectful manner to all individuals and families within our community. No matter where you live there are organizations needing you to step up. This site http://handsonphoenix.org/ lists dozens of great charities in the Phoenix area. Get out there and volunteer. You will not believe how good it will make you feel.
