I volunteered to do way too many things this year... my work with the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission has been most rewarding!    I have been working on two very exciting projects.

The first project was the new Consumer Disclosure form which I reported on previously.  The Disclosure form became effective on May 1, 2007.  The feedback on the new Disclosure form from both consumers and licensees has been very positive.

The second project was a Consumer Information Brochure.

TODAY the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission posted the Consumer Information Brochure on its website!  While the brochure is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that consumers and licensees download and print this tri-fold brochure from the Real Estate Commission website.  [Hit the consumer tab, then the agency/non-agency disclosure form link, then Consumer Brochure]

The brochure is intended to assist consumers in making informed decisions regarding real estate transactions in New Hampshire.  It begins by asking ~  When Buying, Selling, Renting or Leasing Real Estate, Are you a Customer or Client?  Then the differences are explained so that consumers can choose to work with a licensee as a customer or a client.  The brochure also discusses the types  of Agency Relationships commonly practiced in New Hampshire.

The new dislcosure form along with the brochure should go a long way to assisting buyers and sellers in New Hampshire.

It was many hours of work, but I know consumers with benefit from the Disclosure and Brochure.

Joan, sounds like you have been a very busy lady.  I have never put together any thing like this, but I am sure that it must feel very rewarding when you complete it and see others using it.

I know working with the real estate commission can be time consuming and we all appreciate your efforts.

Thanks again, Jay

George -- it has been a very busy year.  I think our new disclosure form is much improved.  I'm sure it will need to be tweeked, but it was time for a revamp.   I hope the consumer brochure is helpful to consumers.

Jay -- I know you have done your share of work at the commission, committess, and various task forces -- Not to mention all your work as President.  It's nice to be appreciated.

Hi Pat:  How are things going in the DC area?  Do you have a consumer brochure?  I think it is a great tool for the consumer.  Thanks for commenting.

Joan, sounds like you are a go getter all the way.

It is really nice to hear about what you do.  Makes this network feel even more familial.

Gabe -- I just read and commented on your most recent blog.  Very nice.  I hope that the brochure is widely distributed and read by many.  I think at the moment it is difficult to find on the Real Estate Commission website.  I am going to suggest a more direct link.

Ray -- Thanks for your very kind comments.  I think Colorado is a state that has been an innovator in real estate.  You will have to let me know what you think about the types of brokerage relationships in Colorado.  As I recall it is a bit different than other states. I enjoy your blogs and knowing you and I hope that all is going well for you and your company.

Joan~

Thank you for the work you are doing to help consumers understand more about the real estate transaction process. All of us win that way.

janeAnne :  I hope that the combination of the disclosure and the brochure will go a long way to inform consumers of their choices when working with real estate agents -- Things are so different from one state to another -- and I have found that practices in the little state of New Hampshire vary from the Northern part of the state to the Southern part of the state.  Thanks for your support.
