Massachusetts Rebates for Appliances - Going Fast!
Massachusetts state officials are getting ready to handle a huge amount of people who will be in line to capture their share of the latest rebate program in Massachusetts.
The state is launching its Massachusetts appliance rebates program to give citizens their share of $6 million that was received as part of the 2009 stimulus bill.
Following in the footsteps of the popular "Cash for Clunkers" program, this initiative has been dubbed "Dollars for Dishwashers and Funds for Freezers." While the previous program helped out gas guzzling car owners this one will be an aid in replacing energy consuming appliances.
The intention of this $300 million federal appliance program is to stimulate the economy through energy conservation.
In expectation of the onslaught of shoppers who will be claiming the Massachusetts appliance rebates, a 50-person telephone call center has been set up to accommodate the response. There is also a website to go to MassSave.com/residential.
While the government has set up this initiative nationwide to give states their preferences on rebates, Massachusetts has chosen to limit its program to dishwashers, clothes washers, refrigerators and freezers.
The program for Massachusetts appliance rebates will be offering $250 for dishwashers, $175 for clothes washers, $200 for refrigerators and $50 for freezers. This is all done with the understanding that the buyer is replacing a working but energy-inefficient appliance.
Hopefully, this will put some cash in the hands of Massachusetts consumers and, at the same time, build a cleaner and more energy efficient future.
Why not take advantage of these rebates while they are here? If you have older appliances, now is definitely the time to replace them.

Hi Claudette... They did this recently in Texas and they had to turn off the program in less than a day because demand outstripped the funding!
