Inspection Photo of the Day...
Decks can be great places to spend some quality time with the fam provided that they are well constructed and safe. Much to my chagrin, I find that home owner and unhandy-man construction practices often leave much to be desired. The chances folks take with their safety and the safety of their loved ones never ceases to amaze me. Kinda goes to show you what a few friends, consuming a few cases can concoct on a Saturday afternoon. I know, picky, picky ~~~ <sigh>...

Michael..Looks like collapsible deck...not good..huh
Michael - As you know, your photo of the day collection Is my favorite. I show this picture to some people, and they don't see anything wrong. For those who haven't evr used a level, a description of what you would tell the buyer might be helpful. I personally wouldn't walk on this thing.
I say tear that deck down and call in a professional to get'er done correctly. I've seen a few that look like this one and even worse.
Believe it or not I have seen worse. I hope that there is a repair request???

The male owner of this home is a do it yourselfer without any skills...
The truth of the matter... many homes it's hard to show the deck as a feature to the home because I refuse to step on them!
Scary..I wouldn't want to walk on that...reminds me of a horrible story locally years ago in Madison when at a house party a bunch of college kids were hurt when it collapsed! Sorry, debbie downer!
That's a beauty!!! I'd be afraid that thing would collapse in a heavy wind.
Michael, great photo. Another "Home Owner" special. Unbelievable.
Hi Michael, what shoddy work,...and the house looks pretty nice. what en eyesore! enjoy your weekend, jay
That's why we hire skinny inspectors. I am not a professional deck inspector or free fall artist =)
Make this a special day for someone, Michael..

Michael...you are not picky that deck looks like it could fall any minute. Would not want to have a party on that deck!
Michael - It almost looks like they hired a bunch of Florida rednecks with a case of BUD :-)
Michael, that is scary! I hope that it isn't a large family that uses the deck!
OMG Michael. Talk about a 'home made' deck. That is crazy.
Michael,
I would not venture out on that deck or let my clients!! Looks totally unsafe!
Michael,
I inspected something much like that a couple days back.
Why didn't they finish painting it?
I think the value of that home would go up if you tore down the deck...
