The town of Wasaga Beach  has a number of things going for it not the least of which is the year-end activities that are available to both residents and tourists in the area. However a few years ago the area suffered a huge setback is a fire ripped through the main section of the beach destroying shops and restaurants. This area was the main attraction for people visiting the area and spending a day at the beach. After this happened there was a fear that area tourism would suffer as a result and the value of Wasaga Beach real estate would start to plummet.

Thankfully though that seems not too happened and although the main area of the beach is still being rebuilt people are still flocking to the area. This has become very good news for owners of cottages in the area. Many buyers of recreational properties purchased a home in Wasaga Beach in order to try to make a bit of money. Because it is such a popular destination is relatively easy to rent out your cottage in order to try to get back some of the monthly operating costs and many homeowners even derive some of their income from it. There are even some owners who simply would not be able to afford their cottage without the additional income that the rents provide.

So it seems the future looked bright for the town of Wasaga Beach and now the only question is when interest rates rise and the new HST combined tax comes into effect in July will home values remain strong or willing slowly start to taper off. That, unfortunately, is a question that only time will tell.
