Chartered in 1887 and occupying approximately 2.4 square miles of land, the Town of Clover is located in northwestern York County, South Carolina. Clover is a quiet and peaceful community rich in history and antiques shopping.
The town officially began around the site of a 5,000-gallon water tank constructed to serve the steam engines of the Chester and Lenoir Railroad Narrow Gauge Railroad. According to a legend, excess water spilling on the ground caused patches of clover to spring up. Residents affectionately referred to the town as Clover Patch. Shortly after, the town became a booming textile community. The town has since grown steadily, reaching a population of 4,014 in 2000.
Clover was first settled by the descendants of the Scotch-Irish. In celebration of its heritage, Clover residents host the annual Feis Chlobhair, or a Clover Kinntra Festival, the second week of June. Bagpipes are played, haggis is eaten, cabers are tossed, and everyone has a good time. Clover's sister city in Northern Ireland is Larne in County Antrim.

- Kings Mountain National Military Park
Located near Blacksburg, S.C., Kings Mountain National Military Park was built in commemoration of the Oct. 7, 1780, battle halting the British advance into North Carolina during the Revolutionary War. The park offers a half-mile trail around the battlefield site in addition to camping, hiking and horseback riding trails. The Living History Farm recreates an upcountry farmstead of the 1850's. - Lake Wylie
With over 325 miles of shoreline reaching both North and South Carolina, Lake Wylie is the perfect place for a peaceful retreat from the hectic pace of everyday life. Visitors can enjoy boating, camping, water skiing, fishing, swimming and hiking at the various parks located along the shores of Lake Wylie. - Paramount's Carowinds
Paramount's Carowinds is one of the most popular family entertainment attractions in the Carolinas. The 105-acre theme and water park straddles the North Carolina-South Carolina state line and is located just 30 minutes from Clover. - Ann Springs Close Greenway
The Greenway is a 2,000+ acre undeveloped area north of Fort Mill just off Business U.S. 21. Twenty-six miles of hiking, horseback riding and bicycle trails weave through the diverse area, providing scenes of natural beauty and wildlife habitat. - Museum of York County
The Museum of York County is a cultural learning experience that includes a fabulous collection of more than 200 fully mounted African animals, displays of tribal dress and artifacts, changing art and natural history galleries, a planetarium, and a nature trail. There is also a gallery dedicated to Vernon Grant, creator of Snap! Crackle! Pop! The museum features changing exhibits in science, history, natural history and the arts.
