"What Does The Graphic Say?" Active Rainisms for a Saturday?

Sometimes I think I clearly have too much time on my hands! This week, I've kept a notepad next to my computer and started jotting down the "graphics" that pop up when I go to make comments on blogs. For a while we got recognizable fruits and vegetables, but now....they are getting odd. At first, I thought they were just letters thrown together, but nope....real words. Here is my week-at-a-glance of AR graphic words. Funny!

Zubrowka: Polish Vodka flavored with Bison Grass

Bacuripari: A South American family of trees which produce "fine flavored" fruits.

Dalo: An herb of the Pacific islands grown throughout the tropics for its edible root and in temperate areas as an ornamental for its large glossy leaves.

Shaddock: This is a citrus tree...but more interesting, it's also a NATO code word for Soviet Missiles.

Marang: An exotic fruit of Southeast Asia.

Shadblow: A tree which has showy, white, fragant flowers.

Kenaf: Kenaf is a 4,000 year old NEW crop with roots in ancient Africa.
A member of the hibiscus family.

Pohar: This seems to be a Lipizzan Horse from Slovenia?

Corozo: A palm tree which produces...you guessed it, the Corozo nut.

So...there you have it. I had time in my week to play with the graphics. I wonder if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But fun on a Saturday Morning.

Karen - Could have fooled me; I was sure some of those weren't words.  Now I have a few more "vocabules" to add to my vocabulary : )

I hope that this coming week you are so busy that you do not learn many new words.

I wonder if one can make marang pie out of the marang, the way we make lemon marang pie out of the lemon???

The words thought up late at night, with little sleep, too much coffee and a vivid imagination. Someone told me it was the brother of the guy in "Cash Cab" that dreams them up.

Real words, huh? Made up words seems a lot easier. Wonder who does the research to find these strange words anyway? It's THAT person that has too much time on their hands!

I could have sworn half of the graphics I see were made up words! Boy, I learn something new all the time here at AR!

Karen; I re-posted this. Funny! Also, it is okay to have too much time on our hands once in a while. :-)

Karen, time to get a hobby. To add to a definition Kenaf is a Lebanese desert made with ricotta cheese and shredded filo dough, served with simple syrup

The Kenaf sounds like a Baklava....I'm Armenian. And for the record, I only got "currant" right now as my graphic.

Hi Karen,

Very interesting words!  Your post reminds me of the Jennifer Aniston movie, Love Happens.  She writes her words on the walls behind the photos hung outside the doors of her clients rooms when she delivers their flowers.  It's an interesting way to really expand your vocabulary that's for sure!!!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Karen, the bakleva is regular filo dough with walnuts, this looks like shredded coconut on top and when it comes out of the oven it has a slight golden brown look.

Hi Karamba, the graphic is karanda!

Interesting research, Karen! We don't need to go much further than Zubrowka to know that someone was obviously drinking when they made up this list!

Who knew?  Now you've got me so interested that I may be looking up all those words from now on.  Better set more time aside on my schedule for AR!  Too funny.
