Tanya Nouwens Rocks and why what you do and say on AR matters…

A few days ago, our newest client, a sweet gal from Canada, received 7 boxes of brand new postcards that we designed and printed for her.  She thinks of herself as a "pain in the BEEhind" client (her words), but in reality, she was great to work with.  She contacted me with a request for rates and such, and I bludgeoned her with a whole bunch of annoying questions about the kinds of folks she was marketing to, her business model and all that jazz.  She was a great sport and communicated with us daily to the tune of a few dozen emails.  When she got the cards, she was thrilled, and wrote a blog about how Jon (my better half, and the one who does the design) and I rock.

TChris Olsen's New card - fronthe blog generated quite a discussion and resulted in a lot of comments: some good, some bad, some vanilla.  One of the commenters, Chris Olsen, stated that he might be contacting us to design and print a Sold card.

Two days later, we are happy to say that the design of Chris's brand new Sold postcard is all done, and the cards are going to press tomorrow.  Chris, just like Tanya, turned out to be a perfect client.  He answered all my annoying questions within minutes, sent us everything we asked for and gave us the creative room to do what we thought was right.  He KNOWS his market, knows who he is and what makes him stand out from the crowd.  He made it easy to design the card that would appeal to his prospects.

So no matter a few ruffled feathers, the important thing is we got a great client who, in my humble opinion, got a card he is happy with designed and printed at a great price.

So, Tanya - it's been two days.  What you said on your post was honest and sweet, and, from a marketing perspective, did wonders for this here little outfit...

Thank You! :-)

Hi Inna ~ I had a feeling all of that was going to make the phone ring. Excellent! That's a great Sold card and the testimonial will certainly be an attention getter.

David - thank you for the compliements :-)  The pricing depends on how much stuff you already have, i.e. images, logos etc.  We are not the least bit expensive, but I am reluctant to quote you anything not knowing what you have and what you are looking for.  Feel free to email me with that info, and I'll give you an accurate enough quote:-)

Elizabeth -than you, thank you.  Chris was easy to work with, and really really FAST.:-)  It was a pleasure.

Chris - the design is work of Hubby Dearest, and yep, he totally rocks. :-)  I will say that it's awesome to work with someone who knows who and what they are and who they are speaking with.  You really made it easy (elements issues aside).

Bruce - but that's one fabulous fish, and the puppy looks awful happy.  I enjoyed our chat, truly.

My Elaine - it's been waaaay too long since i've seen your pretty face, dear lady.  You need anything our little outfit can do for you and yours, just holler.  Call, emal - whatever.  We are here.  MWA-

Inna:  What a great card you did for Chris.  And... of COURSE he was great to work with.  He's from Cleveland (as am I.)

And... isn't it great that those who tried to be so negative on that post... ended up bringing you more business.  Ya just never know how things are gonna work sometimes.  Gentle huggs... take care.

Awwww shucks, Inna.  (That's such a non-Canadian expression, but I think I wear it well. LOL)

I'm so glad to see good things coming your way from this whole kerfuffel (sp?) -- which was my whole intention in the first place!   : )  -- Tanya in Montreal

Fantastic!  (Both the business and the post cards)  Who would have thought that Tanya's testimony would have taken you down a twisting, turning road to more business?  Kudos to you and Jon and congratulations to Chris for not being a sheep and seeing the value in your services!!!!

Karen Ann - Chris was fantastic to work with... Thank you for the kind words, and you are right, we never do know where something might lead.:-)

Tanya - you do wear it well!
Regretless Scrbe, xoxo-

Lisa - Thank you dahling.  I can't quite see Jon and I doing design for sheep, but hey, my print prices are great, so the ones whose design sensibilities are different can still save a crapload of money printing anything they approve of.  I am ok with that too:-)  Plus, even clipart looks better on high quality glossy stock, printed properly.

What  an interesting twist, the title, which mirroed Tanya's, and a new card, an a good reception...

the whole thing made me think of FSBOs not as those who sell real estate themselves, but applying the term to everting done by ourselves INSTAD of working with professionals. We are so skeptical about FSBOs when it comes to selling, but we are in the same shoes when it comes to designing marketing pieces.

Like any other FSBO, we think that we will do it better and it will be cheaper, and both notions are wrong

Great job

Inna - Chris's cards look great!  More importantly, it sounds like he's as happy with your work as I was.  I won't make your life any harder by telling people how little I gave you to work with.  But, I will offer a brief testimonial here..... Inna and Jon Rock!

Jon - thank you, thank you.  Sometimes the titles lend themselves quite easily to petty theft:-)

You did a great job addressing the realtor by day, FSBO by night phenomenon on your recent post.  Sadly, the ones that ought to heed the most probably won't.  But that, too, is ok, as otherwise how are the ones that get it supposed to stand out?

Erik - It is SOOO appreciated that you are keeping certaing things to yourself.  :-)  Thanks again, man.

Didn't forget you... busy and in class all day tomorrow.  I have been too busy to prospect and pretty soon, when all the stuff I have on the books goes to settlement, I'll be standing around wondering what to do next.  I need to get something out to my sphere of influence.  I'll call as soon as I have time to talk to you.  Thinking more of a newsletter letting them know the market conditions here, what's going on with me, wishing them a good summer, that kind of stuff.  You are the best of the best!!  xxxoo
