Corolla is still in the running for being the 100th, and final community ti get a charter school in North Carolina, The Corolla Education Foundation sent an application to the Office of Charter Schools in Raleigh back in February. Representative Owens and Senator Basnight both sent in letters of support for WEVS to the Office oof Charter Schools in Raleigh. At that time they were competing with 16 other applicants.
Last Week the Office of Charter Schools a review board voted on the 17 applications, and WEVS was one of the 6 to make it to the final round. The applications have now been sent to the State Board of Education which will review them and choose one to be the 100th charter school in North Carolina.
