I assisted a young couple moving here from North Florida in early '08. This past December this family called, and said mom and dad are moving up here from Florida, and let's go look at some homes for them. Keep them close, as they are aging, and we would like to be available for them.
We found a wonderful ranch backing to a golf course in an age restricted community with a clubhouse like no others! They were thrilled. We clo9sed in December. These buyers said they would prefer not to move in the winter months, and they were planning to sell their condo in Florida before they completely moved up here.
The condo in Florida sold and closed mid-April, and the packing and moving began. This couple flew up here, and the kids picked them up at the airport - went right to their new home! The kids had cleaned the carpets, painted a few areas as instructed, and looked great.
Upon entry, the wife started feeling very woozy, and fell into her husband's arms, died with a massave heart attack, and died instantly.
This is so sad for this family! I attended the "celebration of life" with the family last night, and hope the husband can still enjoy this wonderful house they found.
Our jobs ARE very personal, and very hard at times!
