Leon Russell returns home to Tulsa Oklahoma every April to celebrate his birthday with fellow Tulsans.
He is still spectacular on the piano and his vocals are still amazing. Leon and I happen to share our April 2nd birthday, by the way. Happy Birthday, brother Leon.

Lori, I saw this on Twitter! Many years ago I saw his previous home in Tulsa where a friend had painted a mural on the bottom of the pool! Happy birthday to you BOTH ;-D

Jim Franklin was the artist, was also famous for Armadillo paintings (along with lots of other famous subjects) and as one of a group of artists who did an enormous amount of art for the Armadillo World Headquarters music venue here in Austin and I shared a big old house in down town Austin from 1980-1983. Long before I "settled down" ;-)
I think the Leon Russell home was sold to the Oral Roberts foundation but don't really know know...
