Spring must be in the air. Yesterday my daughter and I decided that it was time to do some shopping. Summer is fast approaching and we both could use some new additions to our wardrobes (being a 16 year old girl, she could always use new additions to her wardrobe).
We hopped in the car and headed down to Orfus road in Toronto, where many of the stores that you will find in the malls have their factory outlet. Sarah can spend hours wandering through these stores (well actually the majority of time is spent in the line-up waiting to pay). I am not a big fan of shopping, but I am a big fan of spending time with Sarah, just her and I. While I had to act the part of the grumpy dad (to speed things along) I was enjoying every minute of it.
One of the things that I do miss about living in a bigger city is that there is a real lack of shopping variety in smaller towns. Today we took advantage of being in Toronto, and we stocked up on healthy items at Noah's on Bloor. I love this store, and try to get to it at least once a month. Just walking inside makes me feel healthier.
The big payoff came at supper time though. We walked into Fresh on Bloor and had a vegetarian meal. Those of you in Toronto who enjoy vegetarian cooking should check out Fresh (they have 3 locations). It's reasonably priced, has a huge menu, and is not in the least pretentious.
Sarah was not expecting me to snap a picture, but I'm a master at the sureptitious Iphone camera snapping. I caught her off-guard while she was enjoying her salad. D-a-a-a-a-d.
It was the best day I had in a long time.
