Minnesota Fishermen...and Women...Start your engine's!

After today there is only 3 weeks until the Minnesota Fishing opener.  I see this every year.  People show up to the Boat Landing, dump the boat into the water and then for the first time since last year...try to start it.

I have seen Dead batteries, fouled spark plugs. One guy came pulling his boat with a flat tire.  There the family sits, usually with a couple of crying kids who don't understand why they can't get going.

Besides the headach and swearing that will happen, it is the time of others that you waste also.  You sit with the boat in the water and tie up the landing so no one else can get in or out.

I checked with 3 Marine shops.  Most have about a one week waiting period.  If you don't do your own maintenance....CALL NOW!!!!!

Have fun this year.  See smiling faces of family and friends.  Get your boat and gear ready now.  make sure you have enough life jackets.  The price of a ticket could buy that jacket.

Bill...

It's always best to start early and be prepared. Then opening day will be all fun and no fuss!

never too much to ask for others to be a little considerate when tying up the boat launch....also is it any coincidence that the fishing season and the end of the tax credit are so close together?
