But isn't something that is confusing at first, can be fun, once you understand most of it? Well, that's what I would like to help you with by sharing some of these blogs.
If you are shopping for a mortgage, what do you look for online? If you come across an article or a blog on a certain topic, do you read the whole thing? After half way down, do you go to something else, not knowing that you might have missed some good information?
Mortgage Knowledge at its Best shared by Jeff Belonger. I just wanted to share with you some great mortgage related blogs that I have found in the last month as I have searched the internet. Some of these might be very beneficial for you, depending on where you are in your home buying process or if you are just refinancing. And do you know if you are getting good advice. Well, let me help you with some other mortgage professionals who know their stuff.
- Asking the Question by : Mike Mueller Here is a well written article on understanding what is behind a mortgage, how it is sold on Wall Street, and giving you a better perspective on shopping mortgages.
- How to Borrow Money at 4.875% and Fairly Conservatively Earn up to 12.0% by Robert Ashby This article might make your head spin, but it is to show that there are opportunities to relatively conservatively make more than 6% on your money and with mortgages remaining at low interest rates, focusing on investing instead of paying off your mortgage as fast as possible may be the better solution for you overall.
- Realtors, do your job........ by : Jeff Belonger A must read for realtors showing you how 10 more minutes can possibly save you time down the road with your client who is buying a home.
- Florida Mortgage Loans | Reverse Mortgages - are they all hype?? by : David Podgursky David outlines the pros and cons of Reverse Mortgages. This could be an eye opener to many of you. Why are so many lenders pushing the reverse mortgage? Is it really your best option? Remember on how many lenders pushed the Pay Option Arms? Were they sometimes better for the loan officer's pocket? Something to ponder.
- Call to ARMs by : Brian Brady This is an excellent article on the difference between an arm vs a fixed rate. There could be some worth reading information to educate you on why an arm might be your better choice of financing.
- FHA Breaking into the Mainstream by : FHAbook.com This article talks about how FHA mortgages are making a strong comeback and why. In all honesty, they should have never left, but that was partially due to the lender and their lack of knowledge. And because writing FHA mortgages costs the lender money to be set up with this.
- Relocation - America Is On The Move - Part 1 by : Tony Gallegos If you are relocating, Tony has a great series that gives out some key points that need to be taken into consideration when relocating. Just don't rely on your company and the information that they may supply.
- Insure Yourself Against Declining Values Before It's Too Late by : Janet Guilbault Some great pointers here. This might not be for everyone, but it's worth looking into. And another thing to do with this extra money is to invest it as Robert Ashby as point out above in his article. My favorite line : "Don't work for your house, make your house work for you."
Bonus : Mortgage Banker vs Mortgage Broker -- What is the difference???? Everyone has their own way of explaining something to you. How many times do you get one side that talks themselves up and talks down to the other side? How about sharing the pros and cons of both sides? That's what you get in this article.
Sure, some of these people can be my competition. But I believe in educating the consumer and I would rather have the help of some true professionals in this business helping me.
