5 Comments on An Afternoon at a Coeur d'Alene Idaho Real Estate Auction
Hi Janna, I've only attended one auction, several years ago ( the last big wave of foreclosures in the 80s) They are very exciting. I think you're right about them becoming more common and your post makes me want to attend one soon!
I'm no fan of auctions because the real estate auctions I have attended are contingent sales. The auction sales price is contingent on the seller accepting the bid. Rarely does that happen. Plus, the last one I was at had several employees bidding the auction up. It was classless and I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth. I hope real estate auctions in other states are run ethically!
Janna, I can hardly wait to see the photos! I have not attended an auction yet, I should.
Hi Janna, An auction would be interesting. I've never been to one. Were you involved with the bidding or just an observer?
Mary - You ought to make a point to attend one when you get a chance. It was fun as well as informative.
Vic - The auctions you have experienced in California bear no resemblance at all to this auction.
Andrea - The photos are up now, hope you're not too disappointed, they were taken with my phone!
Dan - I did have some folks there bidding. They were the last bidder to get beat out by the winner.
I imagine all auction companies have their own systems and requirements, but there is a lot of good information about the process at the link to the Williams & Williams Auction Company above. They were a class act all the way.
