There is actually 33 acres here.....beauty, trees and shade.  Empie Park is located on Park Avenue. There are covered pavilions that you can rent for a family event. How much fun to barbeque... with the family. My granddaughter had her birthday party there. What a great time everyone had. . The tennis courts are always busy so you may need to reserve ahead.. Best of all is they have 2 acre doggie park so you don't need to leave your 4 legged friends at home. Just remember to SCOOP!!! There is a horse shoe and bocce ball area. Now I've watched that bocci ball game since I was a kid and really no one ever told me the purpose of the game. Interesting game though. A bunch of adults throwing balls of different colors....and oh, I think I saw a little white one. They actually have leagues around here that seem pretty organized. I have seen that game played at the beach in Freemans Park and it is wild. Those beach goers hrow those balls anywhere. I feel a little safer at Empie, but someone, please explain the game to me!! Wonder if the hubby might like that for Father's day?
