The Gettysburg National Military Park is prime Real Estate in the Gettysburg Adams County area
Living in the Gettysburg Adams County area it is hard not to have the Gettysburg National Military Park in your face most of the time. What usually happens is that you kinda get sick of hearing about it. I try to spend at least a few days a month driving or walking the Gettysburg Battlefield, many times I will grab a lunch and head out to the battlefield and enjoy a peaceful moment. I do that because the Gettysburg National Military Park is probably the most important real estate in the country, it is where our country was saved to go on to become what it is today.
Some fast facts about the Battle of Gettysburg:
The Battle of Gettysburg occurred between July 1 - 3, 1865
Union troop counts were approx. 95,000
Confederate troop counts were approx. 75,000
Union casualties = 23,040
Confederate casualties = 22,000/25,000
All of this in just three days, that is why I take the time to recognize the sacrifices that were made here.

I really enjoyed the slideshow. Many of the photos reminded me of Portsmouth. I can relate to your time spent walking the park. I love to walk our historic areas too.
