Relay for Life is the largest fundraiser for the American Cancer Society whereby funds raised go towards research and groundbreaking treatment. It is imperative that we all work together to obliterate the "MONSTER". Too many of our friends and family have had to endure the words "YOU HAVE CANCER". As we have discussed many times, "if you put a face to a cause, the money just comes". Who is your Face to the Cause, we all have at least one?
Our goal for 2010 is to have 110 teams, 350 survivors and to raise $312,500. Currently we have 92 teams - 18 SHORT, and we have over 700 people who have agreed to participate as a "relayer'. A Relayer commits to walk the track for their "hour". We have to have people walking for the full 24 hours. Are you are willing to walk the Tracy High School track for Relay for Life click here.

Donna Baker has had the honor and pleasure of being captain and co-captain of the Tracy Real Estate Marketing Council Relay Team for 8 years. The City of Tracy's is celebrating it's 10th Anniversary of participating in the Relay for Life event. Donna started the Tracy Real Estate Marketing Council Relay team 8 years ago. She had the pleasure of working with Cecilia Klemm and Nancy Cole. Unfortunately we lost Cecilia almost 6 years ago to Breast Cancer. Donna has been Captain and Co - Captain, what an amazing inspiritation.
The Tracy Real Estate Marketing Council Relay team represents real estate offices, REALTORS, lenders, title companies, banks, mortgage bankers, inspectors, etc. All come together for 24 hours to work together to bring awareness of dealing with Cancer. As we know cancer does not only affect the patient, it highly affects our family and friends. The Tracy Real Estate Marketing Council Relay has raised over $100,000 in the past 8 years.
The Tracy Real Estate Marketing Council Relay Team has been in 1st place on 3 occasions raising the most funds at the event. The Tracy Marketing Council raised $8000 their first year participating and up to $27,000 in a single year. Last year the goal of $15,000 was reached. The City of Tracy, per capita, raises the most money of any community in the State of California. In 2010, The City of Tracy hit the $3 million mark for funds raised Relay for Life. GO TRACY!!
