May 1st will be a good day to shop for a home

The home buyer tax credit expires on April 30th. Ironically, it could be a better time to buy after the deadline. We expect demand for homes priced $250,000 and under to drop after April 30th. And some sellers may become particularly motivated, as their window of opportunity for taking advantage of the credit comes and goes.

We've seen a huge number of people rushing to take advantage of the credit. That's why one of our buying clients has decided to begin his home search in earnest on May 1st. He won't be able to claim the credit, but there's a good chance he will be able to find the right home at a better price.

Have a good day,

I suspect you are correct.  The artificial market created by the tax credits has delayed the market correcting on their own.

Hmmmm....interesting...well....time will tell...depending on the market...if lots of the supply is eaten up on the lower priced end and the demand continues...hmmmm..this will take shape differently in different areas.
