The suggestion of the day is the Stockyard Cafe in Amarillo. Located in the big sale barn at the heart of the vast Amarillo stockyards, where several thousand head of beef cattle are auctioned every week, this is one sure-as-shootin' cowpunchers' haven with a mostly-steak menu plus honest hash-house breakfast every morning starting at 6.
The atmosphere is definitely not your everyday fine dining restaurant like Johnny Carino's or Outback, but it's a great break from the mundane and gives you a chance to see what else is available in Amarillo.
I've eaten there many times over the years and have always enjoyed my meal!
