If you are a new blogger, have been hiding under a rock, or a veteran blogger who needs reminding, listen to me now: To be a successful blogger, you need to must be consistent. Consistency is an enormous factor in the blogging world.
If you want to see your number of visitors grow and your subscribers to increase, you need to be consistent with when you blog and how often. If you have a goal to blog everyday then stick with it. If you want to blog 3x a week then set certain days that you blog (ex. MWF every week, no exceptions).
Here are 3 tips to establishing consistency and achieving a better blog:
1) Make a Schedule- Write down your goals and what you want to accomplish from your blog. Now, look again. Are your goals realistic? Make necessary adjustments. Remember, this is a goal you need to keep so be realistic with yourself. If you have an extra day here and there when inspiration strikes, write a blog and save as a draft. If and when something interferes with your schedule you will have a back up blog ready to go!
2) Find Motivation- Take a pen and paper and jot down the answer to the following question: "Why do you want to do this?" Is it because you simply enjoy writing? Is it to boost your business? Is your goal to become an AR success story? How about those little things we call points that you get for blogging that others judge us by? Figure out what is motivating you then write them down. Everytime you find yourself thinking of skipping a day go back and remind yourself why you started doing this to begin with.
3) Just Do It- When motivation fails take a cue from Nike. Blogging is good for you, it's good for others, and it's great for business. Blogging allows you with a release, it allows you to connect with others, and it provides your readers with useful and interesting (hopefully) information. So don't get writers block, Just Do It.
Do you think blogging consistently is important? If so, what do you think key to consistency is?
