One of my favorite places to visit is Jamestown, RI., a beautiful Island in the Narragansett Bay. A great way to spend a day with the family, this magical place is approx 45 min from Fall River, MA. Just over the Newport Bridge

You actually start to feel the magic as you cross the Newport Bridge, the scenic views of the bay are absolutely breath taking! On this particular trip we visited Beavertail State Park and the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum and Aquarium.

The Beavertail Lighthouse is the third oldest lighthouse in the United States, the museum is open for visits during the season. Offering views of The Narragansett Bay.

Our Family enjoyed a picnic in the park and then off to explore the beautiful coastline. Make sure you bring your rock climbing shoes!

Stay in Newport and ride the Jamestown Newport Ferry, visit the village or hang out at the Mackerel Cove Beach. Make sure you bring your camera, you don't want to miss that perfect shot!

Hi Teri,

This is for you! The Queen Mary came through a couple of years ago, looked like it was going to take over the whole town! I hope to spend 1/2 of my retirement years here! :)

Suzanne, it's definitely warm here in sunny Arizona with over 300 days of sunshine. I imagine it does get cold there! Brrrrrr.......I'm so used to warm weather, that 60 is cold. True!!! :-)

By the time you retire, I'll be walking around with a cane!!!

Friends we are camping with here in Bar Harbor said we need to go to Point Judith campground near Block Island.  They said people said it was nice. Maybe a trip to there this fall.
