After The Tax Credit

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Group One, Inc.

There will still be plenty of GREAT deals after the tax credits expire in a few days. We have received several calls from buyers this week that are really excited to buy right now and can't wait to find that perfect house. They all say that it would have been nice to get the tax credit but they are buying a house, not a tax credit ! The right house and the right deal are SO much more important than any tax credit. Take your time, work with the right agent and you will find the right house. We are seeing new bank owned deals come on the market every day and it is truly exciting to see what you can get for your money these days.

The reason people purchase a home is not the tax credit it is the need and the want of a home.

I agree with you Mike and Belinda.  With great interest rates and some incredibly priced homes on the market, now is a great time to buy even without the tax credit.

The tax credit was great but life goes on.  There is always creativity in our industry of putting deals together.  The lenders are going to have different programs come up to help buyers get in homes, as long as the government doesn't put the squeeze on them any further.  Best wishes.

I never really experienced the rush of home buers we expected. Here in this part of Michigan the tax credit will quietly expire away.

All good things must come to an end. Handing out $8,000 for doing nothing was a great stimulus but it is now time for the market to stand on it's own two feet!
