What can Google do for you today? Put you on satellite view with just one click...

 

Google is going to take over the world ~ I'm convinced of it... 

To prove my point just look at what you can NOW do with Google maps!

 

About 5 years ago Google bought Keyhole and integrated their technology with Google Maps and brought us a satellite view...  You probably downloaded Google Earth back then and played around in NYC or even Dubai.  Pretty cool technology wasn't it?  Well hold on to your coffee cups but today Google unveiled their integration of Google Maps AND Google Earth

The first thing I noticed is that the new view Earth is in 3D. 

We've all been hearing so much about 3D these days (thanks to movies like Avatar and others) so being able to see a location not only in cartographic (map) view but in 3D is pretty impressive.  You can even switch back and forth between views and your computer screen will automatically adjust to show you the proper view!

So just what can you do with this?  How about this...   Let's find a subdivision I like here in Cary NC - Lochmere.  Here it is in the new Earth view

There you have it - the latest of Google's taking over the world plot...  I admit it - I love Google!  Thanks Google ~ I can now show people moving into the Raleigh/Cary NC area a wider view of areas with Google Earth.  Nothing can be finer....
