How many memories are you making?

My 16 year old daughter was lucky to go to Disney World over spring break with three of her best friends and one of the other girls' family.  (I never had friends like that when I was growing up!)  When she came back to us, she told me that she had made all of her friends get a fast pass to ride the Peter Pan ride.  She made them all ride the Peter Pan ride because it is my favorite ride at Disney World and she remembers riding it with me when she was five years old.

Another time she told me that I had told her as a small child that she would be a good driver when she grew up and confessed that this simple encouragement had meant so much to her as she gets ready to take her drivers' license

True confession - I don't remember any of these moments in their original glorious technicolor.  But I am beyond touched that my daughter does.

It makes me realize that as we rock and roll through each day, we are touching the people around us, sometimes unwittingly.  In some of those cases, we are in fact creating memories - either for ourselves or for others.  What a humbling thought that is!

I realized that I owe it to my buyers and sellers to try to create good memories for them.  Think about the effect of your new listing on Mr. and Mrs. Buyer, who walk into  your open house. You can make it a great experience for them, or they can walk away with only bad memories of the school!

Hi Lise...Memories are the rewards we cherish as time slips by.  We can make them good ones or not for those we love and those we represent.  Doing the best we can at all times creates the best memories.

Your daughter shared with you how much you mean to her.  We can only try to leave such a good impression on our clients.

Time flies by so fast.  I wish I would have applied more time to my own children as now I do with my grandchildren.  I can't bring those times back, I can only move on and hope I have made a lasting impression on those that I have touched with family, friends and clients.  Best wishes and enjoy those special moments.

Lise, Peter Pan was my favorite story as a kid.  I remember going to the library with my dad to check out records, and there was one with Mary Martin playing Peter Pan, and I really wanted to figure out how to fly!

Loved this post!

Lise, I lived next to Disney World as a child but, unfortunately, we were too poor to visit it.

I am so glad that you realize what an impact you are making on your daughter's life at such a young age.  There are those technicolor moments...and just what we think are ordinary moments that become technicolor in passing.  We all have to be cognizant of what we say to everyone!!!  But, sometimes, that is a blessing and not such a pain, after all.

We have many Disney moments as that was our main yearly family vacation - Disney or non Disney memories are daily being made along with first and second impressions. Enjoy each moment!
