My 16 year old daughter was lucky to go to Disney World over spring break with three of her best friends and one of the other girls' family. (I never had friends like that when I was growing up!) When she came back to us, she told me that she had made all of her friends get a fast pass to ride the Peter Pan ride. She made them all ride the Peter Pan ride because it is my favorite ride at Disney World and she remembers riding it with me when she was five years old.
Another time she told me that I had told her as a small child that she would be a good driver when she grew up and confessed that this simple encouragement had meant so much to her as she gets ready to take her drivers' license
True confession - I don't remember any of these moments in their original glorious technicolor. But I am beyond touched that my daughter does.
It makes me realize that as we rock and roll through each day, we are touching the people around us, sometimes unwittingly. In some of those cases, we are in fact creating memories - either for ourselves or for others. What a humbling thought that is!
I realized that I owe it to my buyers and sellers to try to create good memories for them. Think about the effect of your new listing on Mr. and Mrs. Buyer, who walk into your open house. You can make it a great experience for them, or they can walk away with only bad memories of the school!
